Organization Committee

The Organization Committee plays a key role in keeping the Waterville Main Street board, committees, staff, and programs in good shape by attracting people and funding to the organization.

The main tasks of the Organization Committee include:
* Raising Money - for projects and administration, from donations and sponorships;
* Managing staff and volunteers - by recruiting people, supervising them, and rewarding good work;
* Promoting the program - to downtown interests and the public;
* Managing finances - by developing good accounting procedures.

Waterville Main Street Student Advisory Board

Waterville Main Street is pleased to announce the formation of its Student Advisory Board, comprising representation from Colby, Thomas, and Kennebec Valley Community Colleges.

The mission of the WMSt Student Advisory Board is to develop strong relationships between Downtown Waterville and the local colleges.

The primary goals of the Student Advisory Board are:

  • To make Downtown more appealing to college students through increased events (live music, Get Up Downtown, etc.), retail promotions (college discount card?), etc.
  • To engage college students in meaningful community service opportunities.

Downtown Partners Program

The Organization Committee of Waterville Main Street has developed a Downtown Partnership Program to encourage both financial and volunteer support of Waterville's downtown.  The National Main Street program recommends a funding mix that includes municipal support, event income, and corporate, business, and community donors.  WMSt currently receives funding from all of these sources.  (View a list of Downtown Partners.) The most successful Main Street programs are those that receive support—both financial and volunteer—from a broad base of community stakeholders.  If you are interested in supporting downtown revitalization, we invite you to consider becoming a downtown partner at one of the following levels:
